Another brilliant King novel marred by a terrible ending (the Kubrick movie ending is sooooo much better, but I understand King hates it). The prancing topiary were totally unnecessary and completely laughable. I loved King books and consumed them voraciously until he fed me one too many bad endings (in Pet Sematary) so I moved on to other horror writers that were almost as good but could consistently finish a story without making me laugh or throw the book across the room.King is a good, could be a great, writer if he would only edit and consistently finish a story.
